I guess there are some other questions I should have asked, but didn't.

1. How much does it cost? I noticed that you could download their software for free. Well, I've been sucked in by those claims before. You can indeed download it for free, but are charged a "shareware" price to run it.

2. How accessible is their software? Seems like I remember seeing some scripts for the paltalk somewhere, maybe on the JfwLite page. Are they necessary? Do they help? Do they work with the latest version?

3. Is there a captia involved? Hate it when you go through a registration process only to find a little reminder at the end saying "to protect your computer, please type..." Never mind, I won't get on my high horse here, there are other board topics for that.

4. Will it work with a microphone only? I don't have a camera, and I don't want a camera.

I guess that's all for now.

Thanks in advance.

You don't need a camera, and yes it does just work with a mike. Yes it is free to down lode. There some stuff that you would have to pay for. But thatsif you are using, paltalk extreem. Yes the scrips are needed. You can get them from google.

hi bobby,
I downloaded some scripts, and they do read all the text when people type text, and they do say it when someone comes in or leaves the room. They are helpful, but now i have another problem. if a voice room is too text chatty, and peole are talking on th emic, I have th eproblem reading text nonstop, and the problem of tryig to listen to people talking lol. before with ut scripts, I had to arrow up and down with the jaws cursor to read what people were saying in text, now i have the exact opposite problem. I haven't been on there in a few weeks though.

Hi all,
I use to use Paltalk. The problem with Paltalk is that it has a lot of ads. I don't like the interface for Paltalk.

Paltalk used to be very good. Now it is god awful it is terrible, the people on there are nasty and have no lives. I'm not even exagerating here. I've been on paltalk for years, since version 5. I left paltalk about a year ago. As far as accessibility, the scripts don't even help at all, and mosxt of the time when you ask for help you never get a response. The old company was bought out and this new company redid the whole interface. I advise no one get it.
